JUST when I thought a morning sunrise couldn’t get any more incredible!! I discovered walking UP and DOWN the floodway instead of along side of it . I used to love strapping Charlotte to my back as I pushed Russell in the job stroller up and down the steep hills of our neighbourhood in North Georgia. I used to LOVE running up and down the stairs next to the gym at Life University . THEN we moved to Winnipeg. And it is pretty much the flattest place you can live.... . So I am on my 6th sunrise walk this morning (stay tuned for more on the HUGE improvements I have seen in my health in less than a week of seeing the morning sunrise) and it occurred to me, WHY AM I WALKING ALONG SIDE the steep hills of the floodway . It is like the sunlight opened up another level of consciousness for me... so UP and DOWN the floodway it was. It. Was. Amazing. . Watching my dogs living their best life, running free... as the beautiful sunrise comes up once again, reminding us it is a new day My heart pumping oxygen to my body as I trek up and down my new found hills the floodway . I can’t really describe the gratitude that was just pouring from my heart in awe of this wonderful earth and our amazing bodies . Take care of your bodies, feed it the nutrients it needs, mind your thoughts and emit the frequency of love and compassion. It is pretty magical . Our time is short here. My first Sunrise walk this morning . . Once again, I am in awe of how amazing our bodies are . I always knew this intuitively. From a young age, I have always felt so alive when I am in the sunshine. My dogs know this too, as you can always find them snuggling in the same spot of sun shining in from the window ... . Light is energy. It literally gives your mitochondria input on what to do. Your mitochondria are like little batteries, the powerhouses of the cell. Proper input to them is pretty crucial . Fun Fact: The highest density of mitochondria are found in the egg of women’s ovaries (up to 1 million per egg) and then the next highest density is found in your brain and nervous system . Exposure to morning light also sets your circadian rhythm. If you have have trouble sleeping at night, one of the first things you should do is make it a point to see the sunrise every morning. This will shift your sleep in the right direction . Energy and sleep are just two of the many, many functions your will see improved in your body with proper light exposure. And of course when you fix your energy and sleep, the weight will just fall off... which is really just an added bonus to how much better your body will be functioning . A new heathy habit that I am adding in this week, is sunrise morning walks . How about you? How you start your day matters... . Today I started my day with: - an amazing synchronization meditation with @drjoedispenza - Red light therapy ... - a zoom workout with Jojo’s hockey team - Tyga kisses licking off all of my post workout sweat . We need to take time for self care and be intentional with how we start our days now more than ever We also NEED connection. . I miss seeing smiling faces. I miss watching our kids play hockey. I miss HUGS! (Who else is a hugger????). I miss my family and friends in the US . People are feeling fearful, disconnected and hopeless. I am not immune to this, I feel these things too. Starting my day off intentionally though GREATLY changes these feelings . If you are struggling, just know that you are not alone. If anyone just needs someone to listen, please reach out to me. What are you grateful for this Monday morning? . Dr. Joe Dispenza says that gratitude is the ultimate state of receivership. Something as simple as moving into an elevated state of joy, love, or gratitude for five to ten minutes a day can produce significant epigenetic changes in our health and bodies . When I write in my gratitude journal, meditate, practice visualization or really anytime throughout the day.... I really FEEL the elevated feelings of joy and gratitude. ...By really feeling these elevated emotions, you will naturally find more things coming in to your life to be grateful for .
