A simple but indisputable principle... You MUST build a strong foundation to create a resilient building. Yes or yes? It's essential that we build good functional patterns from the ground up to maintain a strong & resilient body. ... This is why getting checked and developing a proper rehabilitation program for your pelvic floor and core should be the standard of care post-birth. The foundation. It's never too early to start learning and planning. No matter where you fall on the fitness spectrum, a @growco.rehab professional can help. Do you have questions about postpartum health? Can't focus? Feeling burnt? Sitting in the home office reading the same line over and over? ... This was me yesterday. And this is 100% my indicator to take a movement break. We all have our limit-and that shouldn't be ignored. We are human after all-and we're not built to sit at a computer for hours on end. We're built to MOVE! Next time you are feeling stuck in your work, take a minute to move You might be amazed at how quickly this can reset your energy. In fact I CHALLENGE you to try this today. When you hit that concentration wall-take a walk, stretch it out, do some yoga... And let me know if you noticed a difference! . . . #resetyourenergy #burnouttobalance #movementbreak See more

I wasn't always this motivated to move... Full disclosure. There was a time when I would dread my workouts. I would actually feel anxious knowing the next day I had to get up early and drive to the gym.... So what changed? How did I get motivated to move? For me, the solution came down to three things: 1 Choose movement you enjoy: when I allowed myself to go for walks outside, practice yoga, and adopted functional lifting I simply fell in love with moving again. 2 Mindset is everything: I switched the words "I have to move" to "I get to move". Movement is a blessing and we should never forget that. 3 Choose a fit fam: not all gym environments area created equal. Once I found a gym that was full of anazing supportive people-they became family and it motivated me to show up every day. The bottom line is you need to choose things that excite you! This will help shed the resistance And before you know it, daily movement will be the best part of your day! Ps. If you need a cheerleader to get you moving today shoot me a DM...I'll send you a motivational voice memo . . #movewellmoveoften #functionalmovement #movementdoc See more

Life is a balancing act A balance between things we can control, and things we can't. It's easy to find ourselves fighting this flow. Stressing over things beyond our control. ... In those moments when you feel resistance, stress, pain...check yourself. Are you going against the natural flow? Are you pushing things that are beyond your control? Even in physical sense-we inherently know when a movement or pose is not right for us, but we will force it anyways even if it's of no benefit to us (this is me every time I get stuck in camel pose). Why do we do it? Some big driving forces: expectations comparison control Most of the time if we could just let go and surrender we could find so much peace. We CAN allow things to just flow and we CAN allow things to be easy. Success doesn't have to be hard-and that goes for any goal. The struggle and hustle that gets worn as a badge of honour doesn't have to be your reality. It can be easy. Let it be easy! Are you holding onto things that are beyond your control today? Can you surrender and let even one of those things go? How would that feel? Let me know in the comments . . #surrendertotheflow #letgoandgrow #balancedlifehappylife #intentionsetting See more

There is value in convenience. This is why I do things a little different. My why behind being a housecall chiropractor. The people of rural communities deserve quality care. This shouldn't waiver based on location and proximity to city centers. I stand strong in this belief. ... People often ask me...why in the world would you ever do housecalls? Well, let me share some really impactful facts with you to help clear this up: Frequently I am the only health professional my patients have seen in person since March-either due to access or hesitancy in leaving their home I have seen post-partum moms where I'm the first (and sometimes only) one seeing them 6 weeks post I am often the difference between a busy mom working from home and juggling the kids recieving care...or not I've taken urgent calls from patients that feel stuck and at their wits end in pain that simply don't have the resources available in the current environment to manage their ailment Now, I'm not saying I'm a miracle worker and this is not a post to boost my ego. What I want is to raise awareness and let my rural community members know that you DO have options. If you are anywhere from Sudbury to Lively to Beaver Lake to Espanola to Manitoulin...I need you to know that this care is available to you. I love what I do. Truly. And if there is anything I can do to help you please don't ever hesitate to reach out. Yes, I deliver hands on care. But I'm also an advocate for health, with your best interest in mind...so even if you are feeling stuck and don't know what to do or where to go or who to ask. Reach out. It may not be that chiropractic care is the right fit for you, and that's ok! But at least we can get you pointed in the direction towards the care you need. And DESERVE. You are never alone I'm here if you need someone to lean on. . . . #ruralontario #housecallchiropractor #qualitycareforyouandyourfamily See more

Tossing out some myths here. Thinking there is one perfect way of eating. Thinking you have to follow a restrictive diet to feel healthy. ... Thinking you have to be gluten free, dairy free, FUN FREE. Myth. Myth. MYTH! Here's the thing... Setting up your nutrition is 100% customizable. Sure, it would make my job easy if I gave you a cookie cutter plan, but nutrition IS NOT a one size fits all and it shouldn't be treated that way. Nutrition should be set up in a way that works for YOU and makes YOU feel excited about food. Too many women feel guilt, shame, and all the bad thoughts when it comes to food and nutrition. And I'm not here for it! I want nutrition to feel fun and easy for you. Honestly. There is so much beauty in finding that middle ground. That balance. That sweet spot. Where you don't stress about food. Where you have a consistent and sustainable nutrition plan that includes the foods you love. Where you get out of that cycle of restricting and overindulging. Where you feel GOOD. Period. You can have it all. And if you need help, even if it's just a point in the right direction. This is important... You need to know that when it comes to your health you are always in the drivers seat. You know your body best and this is a powerful thing.... Nobody knows you as well as you. Of course we all need help sometimes and this is where it becomes so important to choose a health and wellness team that fits YOU best. You should always feel supported and you should always feel like you are being heard. If you encounter a pro serving up fear based negativity...walk the other way Seek pros that: Listen to your story Grow your understanding Make you feel empowered and confident in your decisions At the end of the day you should feel really good about your health journey. I have fallen into this pattern too many times... You give and give and hustle doing all of the things until you're running on fumes. Sound familiar? ... No shame or judgement here. Perhaps you're a lot like me-the eternal giver that says yes to way too many things. Unfortunately, the last cup we fill is often our own. Winter is supposed to be a time to rest and recharge...SUPPOSED TO BE The holidays are quickly approaching, and although many of us have different commitments on the calendar this year, it doesn't mean the stress is nill and the cup is full. This can be a draining time of year for many people, so today I just want you to take a deep breath and give yourself some grace. Take some time to focus on a little self care in the upcoming weeks. Take an online yoga class, read a book, grab a festive cup of coffee to go, have a shower without all the kids crowding the bathroom (that one is for the busy moms here today...I see you!) Self care doesn't have to be big or extravagant. To all the ladies out there doing it all... Be kind to yourself this season and find a moment of peace to fill you cup. You deserve it! . . #fillyourcup #selfcaremonday #womenonthego See more
