The second one I am featuring for the commemoration of today June 6, known as D-Day is Robert Floyd Nimmo. Robert Floyd Nimmo was a Pilot Officer/Air Gunner with 429 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He was killed in action on November 30, 1944 at the age of 19. He is buried in Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, Netherlands. This cemetery is close to the German frontier, and this cemetery commemorates by name those members of the Commonwealth land forces who died the campaign in North-West Europe between the time of crossing the Seine at the end of August, 1944, and the end of the war in Europe.

FINALLY they are here!!! The Legion mask have arrived and if your name is on the list you can come in on Monday Wednesday and Friday’s between the hours of 2 pm... to 3 pm and pick them up. These are for the people on the list right now We have more ordered and when they arrive we will be selling them to anyone that wants one. Thank you for your patience. Good Morning everyone. I hope this finds all our members being safe? We still have no idea when we will be reopening but it won’t be until we know that we can k...eep everyone safe. I received a few phone calls about the flag being at half mast ? We lowered the flag in honour of the lost sailor off of the ship HMCS Winnipeg. Just a reminder that if any veteran or member needs anything picked up ( ie. prescriptions, groceries or anything else) please call the legion between 2 and 3 on Monday Wednesday and Friday’s there will be someone there. Good Morning everyone. Just a little update of what’s happening with your Legion. We are still closed up until the 18th of December or depending on what the pro...vince and town are going to do throughout this pandemic. We will not be holding our annual kids New Years party as there won’t be enough time to plan this event. To any of our veterans or members if you need any help picking up prescriptions or anything else we have members going into the legion on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s at 2 o’clock till 3 pm so call the legion at 403 823-5611.
