Special Announcement Febuary 11, it was announced that the Dryden District Conservation Club Inc. has been awarded the 2020 Fred Aaron Award which is given to the club deemed to have done the most to promote the OFAH Zone A Loretta Bilous has won the 2020 Larry Nault trophy. That award is for the person who has been deemed to have done the most for a club or Zone. But gives credit to Larry Perkins, Ted Hunt, Keith Blanchard, Conrad Musyj & Ted Renaud & the other volunteers for all their hard work this past year

Robert (Bob) McGillivray was a long time member of DDCC. I had the honor of picking up a cash donation from him for 1st Dryden Scouts Group. Here is a little history. Recently, while perusing Facebook, I noticed a post that the local Scout group was asking people to purchase a particular brand of coffee for which the company would contribute a portion of sales back to the Dryden Scout group. This twigged some wonderful memories of my involvement in Scouts back in the 1950’s ...and how this helped me in molding my life skills and career. Since I had not had an opportunity to give back, I decided that this would be the time and that a direct donation to the Dryden Scout group would be more beneficial. In doing so I had an opportunity to show off my original uniform shirt with the badges that I earned. I was successful in attaining the highest level of Queen Scout, earned 34 Proficiency badges which led to a Gold Cord and the Bushman’s Thong. I was honoured to be selected as one of the many Scouts chosen to represent Ontario at the 1955 World Jamboree at Niagara-on-the Lake and later the American Jamboree at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania 1957. I cannot say enough about the Scouting Movement and the opportunities it gives our youth. How about learning more about Scouts with the idea of getting you sons or daughters involved or just make a donation to help support our Dryden organization. It would be an investment in our youth’s future. See more
