Physical distancing doesn’t need to be social isolation. Get in touch with your friends and family through phone call, text or various forms of social media. Your thoughtfulness can go a long way! http://ontario.ca/d4pl #StaySafe #StayConnected

Indigenous people in Canada experience a disability rate significantly higher than that of the general population. In 2015, the British Columbia Aboriginal Net...work on Disability Society (BCANDS) declared November to be Indigenous Disability Awareness Month (IDAM). Every November since then, IDAM brings awareness of the barriers and issues that Indigenous peoples and their families living with disabilities face every day. More importantly, it offers an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and recognize the significant and valuable contributions they make to our communities socially, economically, and culturally.
