Happy Holidays This has been one wild and crazy year! As the owner of a small business I feel so blessed to have weathered the storm. I’m eternally grateful for each and every one of you who supported me along the way. I’ve decided to stay closed this week to slow down, heal, replenish and reflect before welcoming 2021. Sometimes the best thing we can do is acknowledge the weight of the journey and take the time to honour it. I’m wishing you all peaceful and joyous season surrounded by love and light. Duchess & Duke will be closed on Wednesday July 1st. We would like to acknowledge, thank and express our gratitude for the Lkwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations communities, for allowing us to live, work and play on their lands. We also give thanks to the ancestors, supernatural ones, hereditary leaders and matriarchs, creatures big and small for looking after the rich resources and cultural teachings of this beautiful land. They have protec...ted theses lands and seas since time immemorial and we are eternally grateful for their stewardship The southern tip of Vancouver Island (including Victoria and Langford), the San Juan, and the Gulf Islands are the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Lekwungen) peoples. Resources are shared with the neighbouring relations of Schian’exw (Beecher Bay), Ts’ouke (Sooke), Elwa Klallam and Makah. Lkwungen means Place to smoke herring, Lkwung means to smoke herring and Lkwungen’athun refers to the language of the land. Lkwungen traditionally and still to-date unites the Esquimalt and Songhees peoples as one family.

We’re back and it feels so good Things may be different but we’re still here to offer an amazing selection of beautiful items at affordable prices, something we feel is now more important than ever before. COVID has changed the world we live in and it is our priority to adjust how we operate as a consignment store to ensure the upmost safety for everyone. Firstly, we promise that every garment in our store is clean and sanitized. Each piece is thoroughly inspected, steamed ...and handled with care. We are taking extra precautions every step of the way to offer a safe and happy shopping experience. In order to operate at this level while we navigate our new normal, the following are some adjustments we’ve made. CONSIGNMENT: As sweet as summer is it’s gone before we know it which means clothing has a limited time in our store. We will be accepting a very small and select collection of clothing BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are looking for summer appropriate items that are either brand new with tags or premium / top selling brands such as Lulu Lemon, Aritzia, Free People, Levi’s, AGOLDE, Zara etc... Please contact us at the store (778-433-3318) to discuss your items and arrange an appointment. In the meantime, we have been working hard over the past few weeks to prepare an amazing collection of summer goodies. New inventory will be hitting our floor daily throughout the summer months. CONSIGNOR CREDIT: Consignors are welcome to use their credit in store anytime for anything including gift certificates - sharing is caring For the time being however, we are unable to offer cash payouts. Being closed for 10 weeks has put an immense strain on our small business so we need some time to catch up. Consignor credits will not expire and be cashed out in the future once we are in the position to offer them again. We will post information regarding this on our social media platforms.
