A client of ours with a century home approached us before Christmas with a few issues. 1. Their building drain was deteriorating and had been penetrated by tree roots, causing inconvenient blockages. 2. The building drain entered their basement above the floor, rather than below as is standard nowadays. They wanted a basement bathroom but would have been forced to build a platform or install a sewage ejector to accommodate the height of the drain. ... Together with the help of FLX Excavation and Landscaping we replaced their aging clay drain with a new PVC drain at a lower elevation. The new drain enters the building beneath the basement floor, allowing for a washroom without an awkward raised platform, or pump, while preserving valuable ceiling space. Additionally, we installed a backwater valve and floor drain to protect against potential backups from the city main and flood damage from within. Oh, and while we were at it, we upgraded the water service from 5/8" to 1" copper. Substantially increasing available water volume! #plumbing #construction #excavation #service #waterservice #plumblife #drainage #doneright
