The Vancouver Health Authority's data shows most active COVID-19 cases are currently situated in the central Island region. Of the 11 individuals considered act...ive cases as of September 21st, seven are on the central Island where there have been 59 total cases. Three are active on the north Island, with 68 total cases. One is active on the south Island where there have been 76 total cases. 203 individuals have thus far been confirmed as having contracted COVID-19 on Vancouver Island. British Columbia now has the highest per-capita COVID-19 rates in the country, following a spring and summer that saw the province faring better than other jurisdictions. As of September 21st, there are 1,987 active cases throughout the province, with 60 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Thus far there have been 227 confirmed deaths, while the total number of infections stands at 8,208.
