Hi All! In a creative way to live well, and respect the social distancing that will keep us all safe, I am very excited to introduce "Curbside Pottery" starting Monday March 23rd. My hope is that this will give you the opportunity to maintain your creativity, and will be a meaningful artistic outlet during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have lots of ideas for you to take home a pottery project, and am happy to send along ideas if you're looking for inspiration. I'm also welcome to... helping you realize your clay ideas! If you're interested in participating, here are the steps you can take: Part 1: Starting your Project Email the your project idea (pictures are helpful!) to [email protected] We will respond to let you know how much clay you’ll need, and if the project is possible from home, and when you can come to pick up your supplies Pick up your supplies at the curb of Dundee Pottery. We can provide ongoing text and phone support as you work through your project. Consider pricing: Clay by the lb. $4.00/lb Clay rolled out and ready to go $6.00/lb If you’ve been laid off and money is tight we are happy to work with you to help you participate. We want this to be an opportunity for all! If you can cover someone else’s project that would be great! Part 2: Firing your Project When you have finished your project, take a photo of it so that you can identify it upon pick up. While your work is still damp, drop off your project at the curb of Dundee Pottery, and we will fire it for you. Your project can be: glazed & fired (this is necessary if you would like to use your item to eat on, or as a planter) fired and taken back home to be painted with acrylics or crayons (for items that will stay inside for decoration) Consider pricing: Most items will be $2.00 to fire, to help, I have a firing cost chart in my website I will be posting tricks, tips and projects throughout the week. Stay tuned! Rosemary Here are sample photos..
Mmmmm definite perks to living and working beside a great eatery...complimentary carrot cake!!! So much for limiting carbs! Thanks The New Dundee Emporium. #wilmottownship #waterlooregion
Dundee Pottery is closed for the time being, I’ll let you know when we reopen. While we are waiting... my seeds are coming up. Also...Isn’t it encouraging to see all the references to a cleaner environment as result of our enforced halt? Someone somewhere should be studying the impact of this on pollinators.
