MEMBERS AT LARGE Dunnet Regional Park Dunnet Regional Park Authority is looking for two Members at Large for the Park Board. If you would like your name to be added to the list of nominees for one of these two seats, please contact Jackie Drake via email at [email protected].... Appointment of the two new Members at Large will be held at the first regular meeting of the Board in 2021.

With school approaching and our life guards preparing for university and school starting our last day for swimming will be Sunday, August 30th. We want to give a special shout out to Connor, Jamie, Ryland and Layna. These 4 guards put in many long, hot hours to keep our pool going all summer long and it was much appreciated! Thank you!
Our concession is winding down this weekend but we still have lots of tasty treats and food! Come out once more before we close!
Camping Update - As of September 7th we will be closing our sites in Miller Hollow and by the Blue Building. September 27th will be the final day of camping in our Main and South campgrounds. Book your site and come have another stay with us before we close for the season.

All times for tomorrow’s lessons will remain the same. Levels 2/3/Whale will go back in the water from 11:30-12:00 and Level 1/Sea Otter/Salamander/Sunfish from 12:00-12:30. The second lesson can be optional for the young little swimmers if you feel it is to much for them. Thanks in advance !

REMINDER ... we are in the middle of a pandemic and the case numbers are increasing. All pool patrons MUST have a cleansing shower and sanitize their hands PRIOR to entering the pool area... entry will not be allowed if this is not done .
Dunnet Park Pool is always looking to add to their lifeguarding team. Here is a chance to get your course for the 2021 season. Work for us and we will pay for half of it! Contact Deb at Bengough pool to register.

The Pool and Concession will be open at 4:00! Pool hours for today will be 4:00-8:00. Also, please note that we are now under a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory.
The Village of Avonlea will replacing fire hydrants tomorrow and unfortunately this will cause an interruption our services at Dunnet Park. Because they cannot predict the time of shut off and back in service time the pool and concession won't open until at least 4:00 tomorrow. After such interruption the Village of Avonlea Waterworks distribution system will be placed on a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory. We hope to have the PDWA lifted by the weekend! Watch for an update on an open time for tomorrow for both the pool and concession!

Happy Canada Day! The pool opens today and we are excited to see you but please take the time to read the new rules and guidelines before you come. http://www.dunnetpark.ca/swimmingpool/ Please be patient as we work through people paying for their passes today AT THE POOL. Daily rates will be charged until a season pass is purchased. This will take time and we cannot overcrowd the change room. ... Also, due to Covid Guidelines there will be limited capacity. This includes everybody inside the pool area. If you aren’t planning to be in the pool, please watch from outside the fence. 5 & under must have someone in the pool within arms reach and all children should have a parent watching to ensure they are being safe in the pool and following physical distancing requirements. The pool may feel a bit chilly. It’s currently at 74 as we work hard to get it up to 80 over the next few days. And lastly.... have fun!!!!

Swimming lessons registration opens tomorrow at 10! Things will look a little different this year with the new Covid-19 guidelines.Please take a moment to visit our website and become familiar with how this year will look.
The recent announcement has everyone excited but please give us a moment to get everything organized! Sites will be opening soon and the main shower buildings in the North and BOTH single use washrooms in the South will be opening Monday, June 29th. No outhouses will be open this year and campers are encouraged to use their own facilities.
Concession Staff We are looking for concession staff at Dunnet Regional Park. This position is primarily indoors and includes taking and preparing orders, being responsible for taking payments and balancing the til/debit machine and cleaning/sanitizing. Our staff is working hard to get the pool ready and all the guidelines in place for all the swimmers out there! We are hoping to open Monday, June 29th! Watch for an update later this week!
Cashier - Swimming Pool We are looking for a cashier(s) for the swimming pool at Dunnet Regional Park. This position is primarily outdoors and includes taking payments from pool patrons, cleaning and sanitizing, helping life guards enforce covid-19 health orders. A great BIG thank you to everyone who came out and helped plant the flowers for the park last night!
Due to the high wind we will postpone planting the flowers til 7:30 tonight.
Our beautiful flowers from Doorn’s Greenhouse have arrived. Volunteers will be planting them tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 and could use some help! TIA
Yahoo!! Our playgrounds will be opening tomorrow, June 12th, but we ask that every person who visits our park or outdoor playground must follow public health orders in order to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. People exhibiting signs of illness should not enter park or playgrounds. People not from the same household or extended household should maintain two metres of physical distancing at all times. Limit gathering with other people when entering and leaving the par...k/playground and supervising children playing (e.g. paths, benches, picnic areas). Group sizes must comply with the public gathering restrictions. Ensure frequent hand hygiene for everyone before, during and after outdoor play. Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water or, when unavailable, with hand sanitizer. Refrain from touching your face. We will also be opening one washroom in the South Campground. There will be access to toilet and sink but not the shower.
It was announced this week that an update regarding the opening dates for outdoor pools will be coming soon and we couldn’t be more excited!! We want you to know that will be ready! Our staff is working really hard to be prepared for any new protocol and guidelines. We will still be offering swimming lessons and public swimming but at this time we aren’t exactly sure how it will look. Swimming lesson dates and registrations are coming soon. We look forward to seeing you all out there!

Concession opens at 5:00 tonight. You will notice for now it is all take out. There will be no seating areas. Eat in your car. Take it home. Or go for a walk and enjoy our beautiful park. Please remember to follow the advice and guidelines set by our health officials. Wash your hands, keep 6ft distance, cover your cough, follow the directions on the signs. And tell us what your favorite flavor of ice cream is?
