Did a little work on my boys glove this afternoon. His Wilson A1K received the standard cleaning and conditioning as well as a new leather palm pad to help with the sting he gets when catching in the palm. He wanted some turquoise lace which I mixed in with a hint of black in the heel for a little something extra. Needless to say he was pretty stoked when I gave it to him. Love my guy and can’t wait to play a little catch with him when the snows gone with this thing on his hand.

Absolute beautiful 1786 for Rick Corbit of Brampton Ontario. The A2K line is no joke as they are easily some of the nicest quality gloves I’ve worked on. Big thanks to Rick for the opportunity as this was a fun one to work on. Looking forward to getting this back on your son’s hand.

Rawlings Pro Preferred for Brandon Runge of Hamilton Ontario. This beautiful leather arrived really dry, had snapped laces and that terrible Poron (XRD technology) that Rawlings puts in the palm. The Poron was shredded badly causing a lump in the palm so I extracted it and replaced it with a custom leather palm pad and some new palm adhesive. With that, a good cleaning, conditioning and some new gold lace, this glove looks and feels fantastic. I’m excited with how it turned out and hope that Brandon is as well. Thanks bud for the opportunity.

20 years old and now ready for another 20! This old Spalding for Sammy De Freitas of Mississauga Ontario was cleaned, conditioned and relaced in pink. This particular shade of pink looks fantastic on the aged blonde leather! Big thanks to Sammy for the opportunity and to James for hooking it up! Appreciate you both!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Some gloves, pictures just don’t do them any justice and this is one of them. This Vinci for John Lynes of Hamilton looks and feels amazing!! This one was thoroughly leaned, dyed where worn, conditioned and relaced in grey. A big thanks to John for trusting me to work on this for him.

Starting 2021 with a great little transformation of this old DR for Chris Tellier of St. Thomas Ontario. This one was crazy dry upon receiving but after a quick clean we hit it with 2 different conditioners to help rejuvenate some of its colour and original feel. Topped off with some black lace, this glove will definitely get some more seasons on it. Big thanks to Chris for the opportunity and to my man Nick for the recommendation.

Red and white has this Rawlings looking tight!!! This brand new first baseman mitt for Ian Ireton of Woodstock Ontario is a gift for his son. He asked that I remove the stock black laces and swap them for his team colours. The end result looks fantastic and I’m confident his son will agree. Big thanks to Ian for his trust.

A fun part of this hobby is having the chance to see where gloves have been and comparing to where they are currently. This Rawlings RCM8 catchers mitt from Nathan Reed is a fun example. This glove feels bulky compared to current day models, has an interesting lacing configuration that isn’t used anymore and a shallower pocket than current catchers mitts. This one arrived to me in good shape for its age but felt really mis-shaped due to perhaps how it’s been stored over the years. After a little DGR treatment, I’m much happier with its shape and feel and should make it easier to catch with. A big thanks to Nathan for the opportunity.
