2013 Ontario Budget - JOBS & INNOVATION "Building a bright future requires us to act boldly, to support innovation and make sure that your ideas help build a truly 21st century economy. That’s why we’re investing in research, supporting scientific discovery, empowering entrepreneurial savvy and promoting the amazing cultural exports produced by the men and women of Ontario." ***$295 million over two years for a comprehensive Youth Jobs Strategy. This strategy would generate j...ob opportunities for about 30,000 young people ***That would include $45-million over two years to an entrepreneurship fund, which will help young people get their ideas off the ground ***Supporting the recording and distribution of music through $45-million in grants over three years in a new Ontario Music Fund Greater Employer Health Tax relief to small businesses by increasing the exemption from $400,000 to $450,000, beginning in 2014. ***$100-million to the Ontario Brain Institute over five years to help patient focused research on Alzheimer’s Disease, autism and depression ***A new venture capital fund of $300-million in partnership with federal and private sector partners $9-million over three years for the Canadian Film Centre’s educational programs See more
