PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT Durham Alliance Outreach, Cares, We are Family Durham Alliance Outreach is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and Durham Community Foundation. This grant was provided to fund projects designed to help communities experiencing heightened vulnerability during the COVID-19 crisis. The global pandemic has left no community untouched, this certainly hit home with the LGBTQ2 community of the Durham Region. With the increa...sed isolation, community members have had to adapt to fewer hands-on direct support and services. With this grant, we will be better equipped to be there for those who need it most. Jason Allman, President of Durham Alliance Outreach, We truly are excited to stand behind the statement We Are Family by relieving some of the pressures COVID-19 has placed on mental health within the LGBTQ Community of Durham Region. Durham Alliance Outreach will be developing programs to relieve some anxiety and mental health services to the LGBTQ community through new coping techniques, online groups and some professional counselling sessions. We are grateful for the opportunity provided by this funding through the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund, Community Foundations of Canada (CFC) and Durham Community Foundation (DCF). About Durham Alliance Outreach Our mission at Durham Alliance Outreach is: To advance education by providing workshops and lectures on life skills, such as self-esteem, confidence and communication, to the general public, and especially to LGBTQ individuals in Durham.
