The Town of Whitby has announced that the seasonal restriction on all on-street parking will be in effect from November 1 to April 15. This is in addition to Whitby’s three-hour on-street parking restriction. The restriction, which begins this Sunday, prohibits parking on all municipal roads between the hours of 2 am and 6 am. Residents who park on residential streets during the hours of the ban may be issued a parking ticket, said a town statement. A warrant has been issued for a 50-year-old male who defrauded his business partner of over $650,000, said Durham Police yesterday. Yun Fei Huang of address unknown, is wanted in Durham Region for Fraud Over $5,000 and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 in connection with a business scam which took place last year. Between August 2019 to March 2020, the suspect entered an agreement with the victim to run a business that would supply local stores with seafood. Ajax is proposing year-round overnight parking enforcement as well as extending the overnight parking prohibition, among several other measures, under the town's Traffic By-law review. Pickering is proposing a Right of Entry By-law that would allow a property owner who is unable to get permission from a neighbour to seek approval from the city to enter the adjoining property. This would be in specific situations where the property owners requiring access are unsuccessful at negotiating authorization with their neighbours, said a city statement.
