Durham Region Cycling Coalition 06.01.2021

Hey Cyclist, good news the intersection at Taunton Rd and Green Rd / Kings Lane is now signalized. The lights are installed and temporary, but will be replace...d with proper ones in the near future. Durham Region Cycling Coalition (DRCC) and Clarington Active Transportation and Safe Roads committee (CATSRC) have been pushing this for sometime along with area residents. This will increase the safety at this intersection for all users. Thanks to Roy&Diane C for the update and pictures. See more

As we advocate for active transportation we need your help. CurbTO is a first step to address sidewalk congestion but many more people are using bikes for essen...tial trips and valuable exercise and they need space to safely ride. Let your Councillor know where you'd like to see improvements. Example in link https://www.cycleto.ca//tell-your-councillor-you-need-safe

Hello everyone, Do you ride a bicycle? Do know people who ride bicycles? Would you like to cycle if it felt safer or more convenient to do so? If you answered Yes to any of these questions, we need your help! The Regional Cycling Plan Update is currently underway. During this phase of the project they are asking people who live and work in the region to share their local expertise to help identify the infrastructure improvements, policies, and programming needed to promote ...and encourage more cycling in the Region. We’re doing this through this interactive online survey, which closes on Friday, May 8th. If you have thoughts and ideas about cycling to share, please consider taking a few minutes to complete the survey between now and the end of the week. If you happen to have cyclists in your life - especially young cyclists, from whom we haven’t heard quite as much so far please feel free to share the link. And last but not least, a big thank you to everyone who has already completed the survey! Survey link: https://durhamrcp.metroquest.ca/
