Team Fury giving back by purchasing supplies and assembling blessing bags for those in our community that need a helping hand. Thank you @portperryprinting for this initiative and for seeing that these bags will get out to those who need them. Also a big thank you to another great Port Perry business, and one of our team sponsors @brent.herrington - Herrington’s Quality Butchers, for coordinating this team effort. They will hand our full Santa Sack off later this week to the... folks at Port Perry Printing. In these uncertain times, our Fury family is grateful for the opportunity to continue the @durhamrebels volleyball club tradition of giving back to our community. This team has lots of heart on and off the court . . #communitygiveback #durhamrebels #volleyball #teambonding #grateful

We are excited to have Monica Dyment back this season working with our athletes. Monica will be posting a Google Classroom invite in your Teamsnap group soon. In order to take part, you’ll need a Google account and some floor space to follow Monica at home. If you don’t already have a Google account you can set up a free account or follow the instructions on the screenshot to learn how to make your current email work with Google. Monica’s sessions will be done live online and... she is ready to make you sweat! Learn more about Monica in her bio below . Monica is a recently retired DDSB physical education and French teacher who has no intentions of taking it easy in her retirement years. If you’re an early riser then you might recognize Monica as the boot camp and spin cycle instructor at LA Fitness but when she leads the 5:45 am classes, you’re part of a different breed of committed fitness junkies. Monica is a certified CAN-FIT-PRO Personal Trainer Specialist and was the Strength and Conditioning coach for the Durham College women’s volleyball team for 4 years, then the Strength and Fitness coach for the Seneca Sting women’s team. Monica holds extensive training in sport psychology and sport nutrition and will incorporate these sessions into each team’s program. She is a great motivator who has a caring, but no excuses, attitude!

It‘a time to start introducing you to some of our assistant coaches. Let’s start with @durhamrebelsfury where we have Ashley and Teagan! Check out their bios below . Ashley started playing club volleyball at 13U and has played middle blocker and right side. Throughout her club career Ashley's team amassed a wealth of medals but it was the 2012 D1 17U Girls National and Provincial championships titles that stand out the most for Ashley. Her post-secondary volleyball career ...with Nippissing University was cut short due a family health scare that had Ashley returning to the Durham area to be closer to home. Ashley has coached locally for a number of years and back in 2016 crossed paths with current 16U Fury Head Coach, Michael Hayes. When Mike took over the reigns this season he knew he wanted Ashley by his side to help mentor this talented group of athletes. Ashley has coached 12U-16U and looks forward to assisting Mike this season while she continues her studies locally. . Teagan started playing volleyball in 14U as a left side hitter. Her natural athleticism, passion to defend the court, and ability to read the attack made her a natural fit when the Libero role came into play as she approached 16U. Teagan’s team won four consecutive D1 National Championships including two out west as well as two provincial championships. As a player with the mighty Sinclair Celtics SS, Teagan was also a key player in her team’s LOSSA and OFSAA AAAA championship win. After she finished her playing career Teagan jumped into the coaching role and that’s where she met current Fury Head Coach Mike Hayes. Teagan is a graduate of Western University and is now a Durham Region public health nurse. See more
