The DRAA is taking a decisive action to protect our members and the community, and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by cancelling all public outreach events until further notice.

Sky cleared off and got my first shots through the telescope with a cell phone adapter from the driveway. Plan on having this available at outreach events for the public to take home images of thier own.

Be sure to check out these "Night Sky" petunias at the local garden store. Not a single cell pack I saw had any cloud coverage!

SpaceX launch today at 6:30pm of TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) which is really the replacement of the Kepler mission, except TESS will survey the... entire sky and find many thousands of exoplanets! It's essentially going to create a phonebook of our local neighbourhood around red giant stars, and identify 'interesting' exoplanet candidates for James Webb and other telescopes to conduct spectrographic follow-ups! Watch the launch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY-0uBIYYKk All about TESS here: https://youtu.be/tjkqhQ3NI3o

Jesse has been a presenter at many of our meetings, he is an outstanding speaker which is why you probably might recognize him from several news clips or past visits to the Ontario Science Centre. One day we hope he can return for another talk with us!
