*If you have not yet seen my reel made on my personal account @forevernatalya please take a look at my story* How to play with a newborn Babies do not just eat, sleep and poop!... It is our job to not only cuddle them, but to teach them their senses, motor skills and help promote their brain development. If you are interested to see how these basic games and activities can teach them these various techniques click the link in my bio #baby #newborn #newmom #mommy #postpartum #doula #labourdoula #postpartumdoula #birth #birthsupport #vitual #virtualsupport #braindevelopment #motorskills #babyactivities #montessori #toronto #ontario #durhamregion #gta #canada

What is the First 40 days? It is the first 40 days once baby is born, otherwise known as the 4th trimester. A period of growth, hormonal changes, physical and mental change. It can be a period of kick starting better health and simply adjusting to your new family dynamic. I will be launching my first 40 days once my baby is born and I hope you will follow along for the ride. It will be exclusively on my stories with bi-weekly IGTV lives diving into more specific stories or c...hallenges throughout a period of time. I will be sharing my emotions, my family, my physical activity, my meals and much more. I hope that this is not triggering to any of you in any way; but I do want to share my story with you all. So stay tuned!

One thing I am trying to do during these last few days of my pregnancy is stay super hydrated. One to help reduce swelling but also to remove toxins to prep for babies arrival. lemon water is my personal favourite? What do you like to add to yours?

Not only can all essential oils be inhaled or diffused, it can also be applied topically. A great opportunity to do this would be in pre natal massage or massage during labour. The essential oil will be absorbed in the skin to help relieve pain, reduce anxiety or to promote calmness depending on the oil applied. Oil and massage are a powerhouse duo as the oil sets the tone and mood; while the massage works on reducing stress hormones in your body and relax and loosen muscles. It can increase blood flow and keep your lymphatic system working at peak efficiency flushing toxins from your body.

Although Covid has had a crazy impact on my life, I must say how happy I am that it gave me the time to reignite simple joys and passions in my life. I talked in my last video about not wanted to share my pregnancy that much, to preserve my energy. Part of that was because I feel like being in quarantine forced me to slow down, to be alone with myself and refocus. Focus on REST... Focus on taking better CARE of myself Focus on LOVING my partner more Focus on my TALENTS Focus on becoming a MOTHER with each passing day. Focus on EDUCATING myself more in the field of baby's both for childbirth and for sleep training Covid 19 has been a blessing in my life because I feel like I have so much more of an understanding of myself and the things that make my soul happy! Here are some of those joys: My plants (both indoor and outdoor) My single morning coffee I cherish ever sip of Food glorious food (the idea, the ingredients, the assembly, the cooking and the clean up! And most of all seeing everyone's reaction to my meals) Self care... no need to explain The great outdoors (the air, the exercise, the memories, the adventures) My people ( I felt before I squeezed people into my "schedule" reversing that has greatly impacted my life) My baby I cant wait to meet What have been some Joy's in your life during this crazy time?

Stronger together! I love seeing clients come together in such a supportive way during childbirth. You just see another level of care, compassion, trust, security, love and strength from both partners. This is the one thing I cannot teach my clients, as I know it comes so naturally for each couple. However I can guide the supportive partner and offer the best suggestions in ways they can support the birthing partner emotionally and physically during their labour and de...livery. My virtual crash course provides all the tips you would need to be the best supportive partner. Please click the link in my bio for more information and email: [email protected] to book your crash course with me today, to help you have the best birth experience possible! See more

I consider myself to be muted but listening. However I did want to just share some thoughts that I have had this week on being a mixed person in Canada. I have been so fortunate to not of experienced even an 8th of what some African Americans have in their lifetime, but it does still impact my life. My hope is to raise a child who love themselves, understands the world and is kind to every person they encounter even if everyone is not kind to them. let's change the world! ... #blacklivesmatter #mixed #biracial #family #life #pregnancy #injustice #spreadlove #baby #infant #doula #virtualdoula #durhamregion #durhamregiondoulas See more

A baby fills a place in your heart you didn't know was empty! This is a throwback birth but still very special! Baby Amelia was born on a cold February night. Her mommy showed so much strength and her daddy did an amazing job helping me support and comfort her through the night! I love meeting such amazing couples that turn into families or extended families within an instant. ... Pure magic

I MISS THEM! Going on week 5 of quarantine, it has been a shift for sure, but I am doing everything I can to stay safe! We ALL are! However this week in particular I am truly missing all of the babies I have worked with in the past year and recent months. Seeing their sleepy eyes as I have helped sleep train, hearing their laughs and giggles as they think the simplest of things are hilarious. Most of all, I miss all of the CUDDLES as all they want is to be held and loved.... I love seeing them come into the world as I support as a labour Doula but I love getting to know families and the babies as they grow through postpartum Doula services. I cant wait to get back to work and see these beautiful families again!
