Many of our supporters have chosen to give to Durham Region Hospice because a life experience affected them and they wanted to act. We often donate to a charity but don’t really talk about why. We want you to talk about it. We challenge you to talk to one person about the importance of hospice residences this week. Life is about choices and we are working hard to bring you the choice of hospice residence care. Will you accept the challenge?... #durhamregionhospice #hospice #comfortcarecompassion #durhamregion
Today is the day! Don't miss Ray Legere Music perform for the #SayingGoodbyeConcert where he will join Canadian artists from coast to coast to help honour the grief Canadians have experienced during the pandemic. Watch today at 7pm ET https://youtu.be/bppPNIvrxZw
We are all smiles as we met with one of our local Tim Horton's restaurants to say thank you for supporting Durham Region Hospice and Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham Ltd. Did you know that the location on King Ave. E. in Newcastle, owned by Jay Summers, sold the 3rd most Smile Cookies in Durham Region during the campaign? We are so grateful to all of the staff and managers for selling smiles and supporting hospice care in Durham Region! Pictured: Mayor Adrian Foster, Willie Woo, Jay Summers. On behalf of all of us at Durham Region Hospice, we would like to congratulate Terry Johnston, this year’s Peter Perry award winner. From many radio interviews to MC'ing Handbags for Hospice each year, Terry had always been a great supporter of hospice residences. Congratulations Terry!
Some of us over here are really missing the daily dose of Smile Cookies we were so used to last week. Regional Chair John Henry loved his Smile Cookies! Thanks to all the mayors, regional councillors, city and town councillors, MPPs and MPs for so enthusiastically supporting the campaign.
Thank you Newcastle Lions Club - Ontario for raising over $2,500. The Newcastle Lions held a bottle drive at the Newcastle Rona store. John Albi is a much appreciated supporter of the Clarington Hospice and allowed the Lions use of his parking lot for this event. The 2 day drive raised $2,500 - one crushed beer can at a time and varying brands and sizes of wine and spirit containers! Thank you to all who donated and to the Lions who painstakingly sorted and counted the returns. Members of the Lions in attendance are Linda Bray, George Forget, George Rickard, David Gibson, Heather Griffin. Members of the Clarington Hospice Board Rod McArthur, Willie Woo, Jill Richardson and Marian Timmermans
This quote rings so true to us. We are not successful without our amazingly supportive community. Together we can make Durham Region Hospice a reality.
