Marion Bridge by Daniel MacIvor Director: Carolyn Wilson Stage Managers: Christy Chase and Kathy Ennis... Best not to have expectations and to keep your plans flexible. Agnes is the unconventional one; Theresa is the good one; Louise is the strange one. For adult sisters reuniting in their Cape Breton home, nothing is ever as simple or as terrific or as awful as the children they were once believed. Maybe that’s a good thing because the MacKeigans each cling to wildly different versions of how they grew up. It could be said that we need to understand our childhoods to live a rich and happy life, or it just might be that we need to let our sisters support us in the here and now. Nov. 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 2019 8 pm Featuring: Jennie Archambault as Louise Linda Chapman as Agnes Sheri Pereira as Theresa Visit https://www.durhamshoestring.org/tickets/

Dead Man's Cell Phone, the quirky comedy by Sarah Ruhl, will be presented by Durham Shoestring Performers. Directed by Margo Rodgers, the audition will be held on Tuesday, September 10th from 7:00 - 9:30 at the Arts Resource Centre, 45 Queen Street, Oshawa. Unassuming, gentle, endearing Mrs. Gottlieb: Mother of Gordon and Dwight. Blunt, cantankerous, frostily elegant. Carlotta** Plays two roles-- Gordon's mistress and a business associate. Hermia: Gordon's widow. Emotionally estranged; outrageously honest with a drink in hand. 3 Ensemble: Non verbal performance. Movement. Not Dance. No jazz hands. Probably throwing things...artistically. Perhaps a wee bit of clowning. Moves quickly. **will participate in some stage combat The production is a non-paying, non-union, volunteer only production.
