6 Years Ago Today I Held My Mom's hand as she Passed Away <3 She died in our home of Pancreatic Cancer, after fighting for months. My Dad, my Brother Zack, and I were right beside her in her final moments, and outside our house, right across the street was the Mount Albert Fair. Mount Albert is a small town without anything much to do except for one weekend a year when the fair rolls through, and we happened to live directly across the street from the park/field they set up ...on each time. I'll never in my life forget the feeling of seeing my mom's life end, and walking outside with my brother around the fair watching all the people we knew from school, hockey, around town, etc. having the time of their lives, without even a clue as to how changed our lives just were. I Learned really quickly that day that ultimately it doesn't matter what you're going through, Life Goes on. Still not sure if I'm necessarily okay with it at times, but I know it's true. Don't wait until you have a memory of happiness to realize what it was. Appreciate what you have, when you have it. R.I.P See more
