WE ARE NEARLY DONE! We won't need any more volunteers and are calling the movers to come tomorrow. PLEASE COME GET SOME BOOKSHELVES THOUGH! WE HAVE SO MANY! I am so blown away by all of your support friends. Oh my goodness. We are closing a full 12 days early and can start social distancing at a good time instead of far too late. I am beyond grateful for everyone who has come in to help, who has donate financially and with their time, and for everyone who has shared the posts and spread the word!

EDIT: I believe today, Wednesday March 18th will be our final day with open doors. If you want any books, bookshelves, board games, puzzles.. come in today between 10:30 and 6:30 or so. From day one until our last day, the community support we have received has been inspiring and is something I’ll remember and carry with me for a very long time. Thank you everyone. ... #ISO help with books Hey friends. So, I am asking for help but also hoping to create a mutually beneficial situation here. I’m in the process of closing DustJacket Books and Treasures and starting to feel like I (and my staff, and our customers) should avoid being in public ASAP. Our lease is up March 31st and we have to have everything out by then. The plan was to stay open until next Monday and then go full out in the final week of March, but I’m feeling now that I’d much prefer to get things settled before the real wave of Covid hits here, and ideally before the end of this week. My thought is this: come in and fill your boots (or a sobeys bag) with books in exchange for an optional donation of money or time (spent helping me pack boxes). If you don’t have money or time to give, no problem at all. If you do, it’s much appreciated as we deal with moving costs, paying staff that were expecting more hours, etc. Come on in and get some reads regardless of your ability to donate. If you’re not feeling well, or if you’re immune compromised etc, please ask a friend to pick up some books on your behalf and drop them off to you. I won’t put any limit on how much people take other than it being books that individually cost under $30/each (90%+ of the store). Want five bags of books where each book is worth $30 or less? Have at it. My hope is that -you- will have books to read as we start the potentially long and hopefully boring road ahead, and -I- will have less books to pack and move, thus being able to socially distance sooner. I don’t want to see anything go to a landfill and I definitely care more about staff/customer safety than any form of profit at this point. This isn’t meant to be a sales post in any way, but it is definitely me asking for assistance with this really terrible timing.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will be closing up our shop at the end of March. There has been such amazing community support these past two years at the Brewery, and we want to thank everyone that has contributed time, effort, and money into this beautiful store. We will be announcing our going out of business sales tomorrow. Anyone that may be interested in a bulk purchase can feel free to message us to set up individual meetings.
