Soup Kettle for December 4th is TO-GO! We will be serving hot take away soup and buns by donation at the Dutch Lake Community Centre this Friday between 12 noon and 1 pm. Our motto is "everyone gets soup!" whether you can afford a big donation or just a smile and a wave, we will send you on your way with a bowl of nourishing delicious soup to enjoy at your convenience. It's like a hug for your tummy! Please remember to wear your mask, provide your information for our contact tracing and mind the one-way traffic zone at the window. Thank you!
On behalf of Yellowhead Community Services, and the organizations that are tenants of the Dutch Lake Community Centre I would like to give our most sincere thanks to the Clearwater Fire Department, BC Ambulance, and RCMP for their quick and effective response to the early morning fire at the DLCC. Thank you to Leslie Groulx, Roger Mayer, Public Works Department, and other staff that are working hard to get us back up and running. You are appreciated! We look forward to seeing everyone soon (after we've all had a nap!) Sincerely, Kerry Milner Cairns, DLCC Manager, Yellowhead Community Services.
October 31 Market News - The Clearwater Winter Farmers Market is back inside the warm and toasty gym at the Dutch Lake Community Centre this Saturday, October 3...1st, 9am - Noon! 108 Sausage Company will be back with their delicious sausages, bacon and freezer packs and we will have a full house of vendors with fresh baking, seasonal produce, fresh eggs, grass fed beef, pastured chickens, herbal products, gourmet mushrooms, handspun wool, honey, handmade jewelry, sewing, preserves, seasonal and home decor, wood work and more! @Good Stock Foods will be in the kitchen serving up some fresh & healthy breakfast fare and our draw is still going on for the tote bags. Safe access to locally produced food year round and during a pandemic is so important - all of our vendors will be masked or have table shields and we are strongly encouraging all our customers to wear masks as well. AND as it is Halloween, we want to see your creative masks! Bonus points if its locally made, extra bonus points if you have a costume to go with it! See more

Yellowhead Community Services Food Security Program and the Challengers are happy to welcome the community back to Soup Kettle starting this Friday, October 30t...h! In order to comply with directions from our public health officer Dr. Henry, there will be some changes to how we will be serving our famous soups: - Soup will be served in the gymnasium to accommodate physical distancing. - Mask use encouraged when unseated. - Wash or sanitize hands upon entry. - Sit only with your family group, cohort or safe six to a maximum of 6 people per table. - Remain seated during your stay as much as possible - no table hopping. - Enter the gym through the main entrance and exit through the gym doors, with the exception of those with mobility challenges who may exit back through the main entrance. - Allow our Soup Kettle helpers to clear dirty dishes for you and sanitize the table when you are finished. - Be mindful that we have restrictions to the number of people we are allowing inside at any one time - when you are finished your soup, please allow others to come in and enjoy soup as well! - Take away soup and buns are available - please ask us! This week's soup selection is Beef Barley and Cheesy Broccoli served with homemade buns - hope to see you all there!
It's Raise a Reader Day in Clearwater tomorrow!!! Please come out and support literacy in our community.
Dr. Henry's recent public health orders affecting gatherings do NOT apply to the Clearwater Farmers Market. Registered farmer's markets are considered essentia...l services and operate under our own guidelines. We do however require all our vendors and customers to wear masks while visiting the market and to restrict access if necessary to stay within room capacity limits. Let's be safe and support local makers, bakers and growers! See you this Saturday, November 28th, 9 - 12 at the Dutch Lake Community Centre - we have a few new vendors - there is sure to be lots of Christmas baking, gift ideas, local food and more - ONLY 2 MORE MARKET DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS! http://www.bccdc.ca//co/community-settings/farmers-markets See more
2 full time employment opportunities at Yellowhead Community Services Society.

In response to new public health orders issued by Dr. Bonnie Henry November 19, 2020 we are requiring that all patrons of Soup Kettle wear a mask (except while eating) and we will be contact tracing. Thank you for your cooperation.
The bakers, makers, artisans and crafters are busy getting ready for Saturdays market - shop local for some great gift ideas. Watersmeet Farm will be back with a fresh supply of locally grown produce and don't forget to stop and get a steaming cup of fresh pressed Oso Negro coffee from the Wild Flour Pop Up Cafe!
Full time employment opportunity at Yellowhead Community Services Society.
Market day tomorrow! Have you picked up your pastured chicken yet? Also MacLennan Farms should have their beef jerky back in stock! Fathers Day is coming and we have great gift ideas for Dad - leather work, wooden signs, pickles, chocolate, baking and don't forget we have market gift certificates! A big thanks to Gerda and the Wells Gray Lively Arts Society for helping bring (the next best thing to live) musical atmosphere to our market.
Apologies for last weeks cancellation! We are back on track for Soup Kettle this Friday and you haven't missed a thing - same menu this week - Turkey Wild Rice and Borscht!
It's almost market time again and my weather app says it will be dry between 9 - 12! Let's welcome back our crafters and artisans - clothing, weaving, birdhouses, home decor, candles, flower bouquets, lotions and creams, greeting cards and more! The Baileys will be back with their eggs and of course we will still have all the fresh baking, preserves, fresh produce, beef, honey, gourmet mushrooms, bedding plants, take away coffee and breakfast. We also still have a few vegetable seeds left to give away. #shoplocal #localfood #letsgetgrowingclearwater2020 #ycsfoodsecurity
There will be no soup kettle on Friday, November 6. See you next week!
This weeks selection of soups - see you on Friday!
Good news at the market! Dr. Bonnie says we can have non-food vendors back at farmers markets, just in time for the weekend! Come on out and support your local makers, bakers, artisans, crafters and growers! We are also super excited to have the 108 Sausage Company meat truck, the Growers Collective and the Masses on site this weekend and of course our regular food vendors with all the yummies * Social distancing still in effect * wash your hands * stay home if you are sick
