We are so excited that our Strata student and past DVMS student Audrey MacKinnon will be competing on Food Network's new show "Junior Chef Showdown" premiering Sunday, April 19th at 9:00pm. All those cooking projects and bake sales paid off! This quiet in the chaos could be disquieting. So it becomes our role to offer routine, inspiration, connection, love and community. The DVMS/Strata/SiTE family came together and managed to create an online learning world steeped in humanity. At the end of our first week, We are both so exhausted and so humbled by what our community has created. Our Guides, many of whom don't have computers, internet or know how to spell Utube(sic), managed to engage and inspire every one o...f their students. Together we created online learning focussed on each unique child and each unique developmental stage for students aged 18 months to 18 years. The parents, many of whom are still working full time, helped guide their children through their lessons. You also offered our staff so much kindness - in words and support - this has meant so much to all of us. It is not hollow words to say that our school community is a miracle to all of us who are part of it. But it was the children that were the true stars. They were so present and enthused, and - as we heard over and over from the parents - prepared by the work we had done in our classes to get to work, to create themselves and to thrive in this strange new world. It was these children that made all of our efforts - and trust me none of us in our DVMS/Strata/SiTe Montessori family have ever worked harder - worth every second.
