Don Valley North Ontario NDP 04.01.2021

Gladstone Hotel 1214 Queen Street West, Toronto Tuesday September 26, 6-10pm. Do the ongoings of Provincial and Municipal politics lately have you wondering if the world is ending, and asking on a practical level, what can I do?... As a community hub, the Gladstone Hotel wants to help! Leading up to our October 22nd Mayoral Election, each Tuesday evening will be home to a civic engagement series. Each event will be a place to ask and learn from experts what exactly is happening in local politics, to meet people asking the same questions you are, and help YOU understand how to make an informed decision on Election Day. (We’ll also close each event with topical, Toronto-themed trivia!) We are a *safe space and judgement free zone* to discuss and debate your ideas. Come and ask the question you wish someone could help you answer (but you don’t know where to ask, or it feels embarrassing not to know). There’ll be room for anonymity, there will be room to take space. If this doesn’t help raise your spirits and get you excited about having the opportunity to engage in local democracy - we have an extensive drinks list that might do the trick!

Ontario NDP It’s been one month of Doug Ford in the premier’s chair and Ontario is reeling. We saw a $100 million cut to badly-needed school repair funding and the decision to force teachers to use the dangerously outdated 1998 sex ed curriculum.... And we saw Ford scrap cap and trade, risking our clean air and lakes, and making us pay more with massive penalties that could reach billions of dollars. Last week we learned that planned mental health funding would be cut by $330 million per year; And now Ford is using the power of the premier’s office to settle old scores by interfering in Toronto’s municipal election and select regional races. As your Official Opposition, our team is standing up to Doug Ford every day. But we’re all going to need to do much more if we want defend health care, education and democracy itself. Doug Ford’s first month has been all about backroom deals and the influence of far-right insiders. ontariondp.ca/united -Andrea Andrea Horwath Ontario’s New Democrats Facebook Twitter New Democratic Party of Ontario 2069 Lakeshore Blvd West, Suite 201, Toronto, ON M8V 3Z4
