Ever heard about a percontation mark? I didn’t know such a mark of punctuation ever existed. Huh!

I can only imagine how difficult simultaneous interpretation must have been during last night’s tumultuous presidential debate. Those interpreters have all my respect.

Have you heard of emergency linguistics? If you haven’t, here’s your opportunity to discover what they are and how crucial they can be in times of crises (like the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic). It’s unlike me to show my political deck of cards on this platform, but I will tip my hat to premiers Doug Ford and François Legault for understanding the importance of providing subtitles or translations of vital information to their respective linguistic minority communities. After all, despite the situation or minority, #languagematters all the time. http://blog.editors.ca/?p=6841

I think the same could be true for language professionals. Happy Sunday!
