I used this photo last year to help illustrate what happens in this kind of weather. With regard to high efficient furnaces that are vented horizontally, the cold, the wind and the swirling snow can build up against one or all of these features on your home. Take a couple of minutes and brave the storm to make sure these areas are clear. It just might save you some headaches (both physically and financially) and save you a visit from yours truly.

The new tile isn't installed yet, but here is a new gas insert to replace the original. If you have a gas fireplace that was installed in the late 80s and 90s, and feels like it isn't heating things up, it probably isn't! Some fireplaces were for ambience which, in my opinion, is a real waste of natural gas and money. This was the situation here. I can replace a useless unit with an insert that is both beautiful and warm. Send me a message for a consult!
