Getting away from the computer and going for walks with my wife while the kids are in school has been an important routine. We enjoy the exercise, fresh air, each others company and of course looking at houses and discussing things we love, or don't, about them. We've covered most, if not all of Collingwood, Charleswood, Brentwood, Triwood, Cambrian Heights and Rosemont areas of Calgary's inner city NW on foot, walking over 45km. Calgary's inner city communities are full of b...eautiful tree lined streets, character housing (new and old) and most importantly, friendly and resilient citizens. We love the established communities we explore and want to share them with you! Our first Weekly Walkabout is focused on the small, quiet community of Rosemont. Before and after a major renovation. Our homeowners wanted to make this old bungalow (816ft2) work for their growing family. After consulting with engineers, we added a second storey (1128ft2) which included a fully appointed ensuite, a laundry room, flex room, main bathroom and two kids bedrooms. #renovation #design #calgaryrenovations

Very excited to be working on a Backyard Suite with some site challenges. This is not going to be a typical construction! The existing garage on site is wedged into the back corner of a pie lot. It only sits on a thickened edge slab with 2x4 walls. Using some screw piles, we plan on building the suite over top of the existing garage and structurally independent from the existing garage.
