The owner and sole therapist of Dynamic Neurophysiotherapy is Cheryl Murphy B.Sc.P.T., registered physiotherapist in Ontario. Cheryl graduated from Queens University Physical Therapy Program in 2003, and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. She has been a Registered physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Associations (CPA/OPA) since 2003. She i...s also a member of the Neurosciences division of the CPA and the secretary/treasurer of the Bobath Interest Group. Immediately after graduating, she began working at the West Parry Sound Health Center. The rotating position reinforced her passion for working with individuals with injury or illness which had impacted their neurological system. After taking 6 months to travel, Cheryl pursued her passion by moving to Toronto to focus on neurological rehabilitation. Cheryl joined a private clinic where she worked solely with individuals with neurological impairments in a variety of age groups. She obtained training and gained skills in myofascial release, craniosacral therapy and the Bobath Concept. Cheryl honed her skills in neurological physiotherapy by working with her mentor and taking courses in advanced and masters Bobath Concept. She has successfully worked with individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. Cheryl has extensive experience working with motor vehicle accident insurance, lawyers, and multidisciplinary teams. She feels strongly that it is essential to maintain strong lines of communication between members of an individuals rehabilitation team to optimize recovery. Cheryl resides in Barrie with her family and enjoys an active lifestyle including running, yoga, ultimate Frisbee, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and football.
