Relationships!! They are always a journey, right?! They can be exciting, scary, stifling, inspiring, cozy, uncomfortable, hard, easy and feel alive or even dead. I often joke with my clients that if I owned a manual on how to create the perfect relationship or how to guarantee a relationship was going to work, I’d be very very rich! We laugh together because I don’t, nobody does! There is however tons of material and research out there on ‘how to’ get closer, be more honest, ...stand for yourself, trust yourself and learn how to trust your partner and so much more. Ultimately, we don’t know the exact ingredients of what is needed because each person, their partner or partners have unique and individual wants and needs. We often didn’t get these wants and needs met when we were younger. The examples are many. However, what does stand out to me as a great foundation for successful relationships is the balancing act of moving from (excuse the labels for a moment) independent or co-dependent to interdependent. How to feel a strong sense of the ‘I’ whilst staying open and contributing to the ‘We’. If we can get clearer on what feels true and honest about what we want and need for ourselves, we can then learn how to communicate this to our partner/s. This of course will result in uncovering the differences between our ‘I’ and our ‘we’ and that can feel scaryagain, when we were younger this WAS scary, to feel something we feel good about in our bodies and yet we are told it is wrong or not accepted by our caregivers. As children this can feel confusing, if not terrifying so we slip in to strategizing and placating to keep the bondthese strategies learned, may have served us at one point as kids but as adults we need to unlearn themand it can be hard! The balance is tricky for all of us and I love supporting partnerships through this processwe want to connect, and we canit’s all in the balance! See more

I read this book about 20 years ago and remember liking it then...I picked it up again a few weeks ago and I'm about 20 pages from the end and I'm so inspired! In the book, Carolyne Myss talks about "Symbolic Light". What she is describing in relation to our health and well-being and the direct correlation to how we respond in our relationships and daily lives is widely written and talked about. For example: Clearmind International asks the question of any dilemma, challenge ...or crisis; "What might this be for?" and Byron Katie invites the inquiry; "Is it true?" if we have decided on a negative assumption or belief about our reality. By staying open to the gift, silver lining or lesson in the middle of any struggle may not be an easy route to choose, but this is a transformational process from experiencing life from a limited point of view into the unfolding of unlimited possibility. A great reminder for me of empowerment - in short, I recommend this book!! See more

Welcome to Dynamic Transformations! I thought I would start this new chapter by sharing one of my favorite quotes...another way to put it - 'the universe will meet you if you step into what you are truly called to do'...
