Phase 4 of the project is located between the Phase 3 West (Golden Hill... to West Portal) and Phase 1 (Yoho Bridge) sections of the Trans-Canada Highway, east of Golden, British Columbia. The scope of work includes upgrading approximately 4.8 kilometres of the highway, constructing new bridges, realigning 13 curves and widening the highway to four lanes, with median barriers and wider shoulders to accommodate cyclists. The project also includes mitigating avalanche and rock-fall hazards with bridges, rock catchment ditches and other measures, the construction of numerous retaining walls, and the installation of wildlife exclusion fencing and passages. This morning one of our highway maintenance trucks was hit by another commercial vehicle. Unbelievably both drivers walked away from this MVI. Our truck was outfitted with a crash attenuator trailer with arrow board; it’s a sort of mobile crash cushion designed to absorb some of the impact of a collision and protect our workers and the traveling public in the event of a collision.... Highway maintenance contractors in British Columbia provide essential services that benefit all of us. Help us help you - by slowing down in cone zones or when you approach maintenance and emergency vehicles with flashing red, blue, or amber lights. Get enough sleep before you get behind the wheel. Put the phone away and don’t speed or drive under the influence. Help us make it home safe to our families. www.instagram.com/eac.bc.ca/ #EmilAndersonMaintenance #EssentialServices4U #LetsHaveASafeJob #SlowDownMoveOver #ConeZoneBC #DriveBC

Effective July 27, 2020, provincial roads and bridges in the Skeena Service Area 26 will be maintained by Emil Anderson Maintenance | Skeena. This extensive service area encompasses the communities of Terrace, Kitimat, Gitlaxt'aamiks and others. Emil Anderson Maintenance | Skeena has purchased the assets of 141187 Ventures Ltd (Nechako Northcoast Construction) in this service area. We would like to sincerely thank the Nechako Group of Companies for 29 years of exceptional hi...ghway maintenance and dedicated service to the Province of British Columbia. We are extremely pleased to carry on the tradition of excellence and look forward to fostering a strong relationship with the employees, local MoTI Management, local suppliers, Kitsumkalum First Nation, and other important stakeholders. Emil Anderson Maintenance is an experienced highway maintenance contractor and has operated the highway maintenance contract for Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley) since 1996 and also operated Service Area 8 (South Okanangan) in the early years of privatized highway maintenance. EAM is part of the Emil Anderson Group, which includes BC Roadbuilders Founding Member, Emil Anderson Construction (EAC) and several other affiliated companies. EAC was founded in 1938 and has a long history of working throughout BC, including projects in the Nass Valley, Terrace, Kitimat and Prince Rupert. Nobody understands the needs and priorities of a community better than the people who live and work in it. That’s why the Emil Anderson Group has an employee-lead Community Give-back Program to support the communities where we live and operate. This program will be expanded to include the Skeena Service Area. www.instagram.com/eac.bc.ca #EmilAndersonMaintenance #EmilAndersonConstruction #EAMSkeena #skeena #DriveBC #Terrace #Kitimat #newaiyansh #nassvalley
