Normally a tour bus, The Blue Heron is adapting to this Covid-19 business, & finding new ways to help out! Here, you can see the Herring roe on kelp, drying in the sun and wind. (known to the Haida people as K’aaw) Also, it is a treat to coastal people. The herring begin spawning in different times and locations through out the Spring season, along the BC coast.

Given the global climate surrounding Covid-19, I have decided to cancel my 2020 season. The health and well being of the island I call home is worth more than any $ amount. This was slated to be my most successful season to date. It is definitely a kick in the chins, however, I will bounce back. See you in 2021. ... James Williams

Yowzers! My 19th season in the Cultural Tourism field, begins today! (15 seasons as a Haida Gwaii Watchmen and 4 as Eagle Eye Cultural Tours) First time doing tours in the snow, today I will be touring the Haida Gwaii Higher Education Society!
