She also read a poem she wrote after Takaya left his island home and was relocated to an area of largely clear-cut rainforest near Port Renfrew - a moving reflection on the loss of family and home. At the sold-out event, people were able to wander the corridors of the beautiful Nootka Court as they viewed Takaya Art Tributes from over 80 international artists. The show, curated by Chris and Shirley MacDonald of the Eagle Feather Gallery was a huge success.
