Attention Eagle Riders! Many trails (basically everything after Roger's Pass or west of the Dentist) will be closed tomorrow evening (Tuesday) between 5PM-9PM for the TORCA 500 DUO event. Please do not try and ride the mountain at that time, you won't be able to get over to or exit from Exterminator as Mossom Creek Trail is part of the relay event, so is Decapitator and Upper Mossom connector. There will be runners and mountain bikers everywhere, including the Hydro road which will be the exit. Good luck to everyone taking part in the event tomorrow!!

Eagle Mountain Moto - Dirt Bike Trail Closure: The forest fire danger level is back up to Extreme and staying there. At Blue Mountain and other local riding areas, the land managers have closed the trail system completely. Besides the forest fire danger, the trails are extremely dry and will be easily damaged by spinning wheels. Accordingly we are once again CLOSING ALL DIRT BIKE TRAILS AT EAGLE MOUNTAIN in a voluntary closure. We will keep this closure in effect until we... have had some rain and the fire danger is relaxed. Please respect this closure and do not ride the trails. http://www2.gov.bc.ca///safety/wildfire-status/fire-danger For those in desperate need of an Eagle fix, we have some hike-in trail work we will be doing in the coming weeks! Come to the next trail day!

After some rain the fire danger at the UBC Research Station has been reduced from Extreme to Moderate. The weather looks good ahead with cooler temperatures forecast for the next week. Accordingly the trails are re-opened again from our voluntary full closure. Thank you everyone for your co-operation, and see you on the trails!

Eagle Mountain Moto - Dirt Bike Trail Closure The forest fire danger level has been raised to Extreme in our area as of Aug 4th. A full back country Off-road vehicle closure has been instigated in most of the province, and at Blue Mountain the land managers have closed the trail system completely. We expect to receive notice of a back-country closure here too, but in the interests of safety we are instigating a voluntary closure of all dirt bike trails until the extreme... fire danger passes. Remember that the trail system is located right next to thousands of family homes in Coquitlam and Anmore. A forest fire would be an epic disaster and of course put an end to riding dirt bikes on Eagle Mountain. For both those reasons and many more, the extreme fire risk demands extra attention at Eagle. We hope that everyone can agree with this reasoning and will respect the closure. Wait just a few weeks until we have some rain and the fire danger has passed before riding the trails please! http://bcfireinfo.for.gov.bc.ca/Weather/Maps/dr.png

A huge thank you to the BC Wildfire Service team for their help on the Eagle Mountain trails this week! They removed some nasty problem tree snags as well as many rotten and unsafe structures from the trail network. We are very grateful for your assistance!

RSTBC has accepted Eagle Mountain Moto's initial Section 56 Proposal and it will be submitted to Front Counter BC for referrals later this month. Thanks to everyone involved for all their hard work this past 9 months - The next three years are going to prove very exciting as we work with our partners to preserve a portion of the trail network in a sustainable way. Interested in these developments? Please come to a monthly club meeting and find out how you can get involved!
