Happy New Year from Eagle's Nest Resort! Here's what we woke up to on New Year's day - so much snow it flattened our lilac and saskatoon bushes. Hopefully they'll bounce back....

Christmas - a time of reflection, joy, connection, and spirit. May yours be miraculous.

Another summer has come to a close and its time for us to put the dock away, stockpile some wood, and get ready for winter. We'd like to thank all the record number of travelers that stayed with us this summer, it has been a pleasure to share our resort with you. But as sure as winter turns to spring, our gardens will bloom again, there will be a room waiting for anyone who drops by, and Max the cat will be looking for some love. See you then....

Look what we found at the end of our dock yesterday morning. The seagulls don't look as surprised as we were....

If you remember, back in late May we posted a photo of a mother loon on her nest, just offshore from the resort (re-posted here). Now see her swimming around the shoreline with her two babies on her back! Fabulous to live in nature....

Our Crystal Room is welcoming dinner guests every evening, and Chef Jason's creations are getting very favourable reviews. Here's a sample from our latest menu....

That time of year again when our flowers arrive for the garden! Thanks to Horsefly Nursery for delivering over 600 healthy plants. Took us just over 2 days to get them all into the ground. Here's a few photos of the hard-working Eagle's Nest planting crew...

It's early spring, but the animals have been active around the resort. This deer was relaxing in our garden, and the loon has built her nest just offshore from us.

Just like two years ago, a fearless robin has decided that the hanging basket right next to our lobby door is a good place for a nest! Here is mother Robin calmly sitting on her eggs while I hover over her with a camera not two feet away. Amazing....

Another beautiful winter's day on Sunday with 4 inches of new snow! Keeps us busy here at Eagle's Nest....

Less than a week until Christmas, and Eagle's Nest is awash with light every night! Here's a little bit of the annual celebration...

Eagle's Nest is pleased to congratulate our friend Vera Ransom on the occasion of her 100th birthday!! Vera moved to Eagle's Nest in 2004 from the Vancouver area and has been a great help around the resort ever since. Although she grew up and lived in the lower mainland Vera spent as much of her time as possible in the Chilcotin. She first visited in the 1930s and fell in love with the people and the land, so drove up from Vancouver with her friends as often as possible. She has many memories of helping out at the TH Ranch where she would often ride with the Hance brothers, and fondly remembers sitting around the campfire listening to Grover Hance's stories. She says those days were good ones, with everyone working hard and enjoying the simple things in life. HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY VERA!
