Our Kindergarten class went on a field trip to The Glenbow Ranch. They were introduced to Indigenous ways of knowing & land & wildlife in Alberta! The children learned so much and had a fun morning. This field trip ties in perfectly to the Kindergarten Social Studies curriculum!

A fun craft/activity that your child can help you create. Collect a few rocks and trace them onto cardboard. The back of a cereal box works perfectly. Write the number on one side of the rock and the amount of dots on the other side. Your child will have to choose the correct rock that matches the dot pattern on the cardboard!

MEET THE TEACHER My name is Jen Pickrell. This is my 10th year teaching with Early Discoveries. Before teaching at Early Discoveries, I taught Kindergarten and Grade 1 at two other schools; one here in Calgary and one in Dallas, Texas. I have a husband, two daughters (ages 7 and 12) and a cat. Both of my girls went to Early Discoveries and started at the Wilbury Gang program and went all the way through the Kindergarten program. On our days off, my family likes to get outside and explore the outdoors hiking, biking, camping and fishing.
