Josephine van Lier Is the driving force behind Early Music Alberta and our upcoming Trios Concert. As artistic director she is always thinking of exciting new programs and ways to bring historically informed performances of early music to her audiences. She loves to share her passion with her colleagues in Alberta and around the world. Josephine is an expressive and passionate performer on the cello and viola da gamba and is very much looking forward to performing at the upcoming concert! Meet Gabriele Thielmann-Vriend, performing in our virtual Trios Concert on February 20th! Gabriele Thielmann-Vriend is an Edmonton based violinist specializing in baroque and classical performance. She has performed regularly with Early Music Alberta and is known for her sweet sound, delightful character and conscientious music-making. Recently, Gabriele became a full-time student at the University of Alberta where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing i...n the after-degree program. Meet Marnie Giesbrecht, performing in our virtual Trios Concert on February 20th! Marnie Giesbrecht is a frequent performer with Early Music Alberta. A passionate and very versatile keyboard artist, some of Marnie’s great joys playing on the Early Music Alberta concert series include discovering, learning and performing new music by well-known as well as unknown [to her] composers; playing chamber music and collaborating with superb musicians who play early instruments, an...d engaging with a community of people who love early music.
