"There are the lush harmonies in Kamran Shahrokhi’s Ocean Rush, creating a cinematic and meditative atmosphere. Henry From’s Dance at the End of Time, with its rigour and precision, is more reminiscent of the baroque era." There is so much to look forward to in our next concert, New Music for Old Instruments featuring the Pacific Baroque Orchestra! A big thank you to The Tyee for this fantastic preview of our annual tradition in which New compositions are written for the ...period instruments of the PBO. Concert debuts Wednesday, March 24 at 7:30PM which includes five world premieres! Produced in collaboration with Van Pro Musica as part of their Sonic Boom Festival.

Happy Early Music Day! We are celebrating by honouring the past and embracing the present with our concert, Musical Offering: Transcending Time. This concert includes Bach's Musical Offering and Vancouver composer Jocelyn Morlock's Revenant. The latter takes inspiration from the same royal theme from the Musical Offering but reverses it, giving it an ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere. Watch the full concert, completely free to access!

"The Musical Offering is a staggering display of virtuoso contrapuntal technique, based on a theme given to Bach by the music-loving monarch Frederick the Great of Prussia. More than 250 years later, Morlock took up the theme as the core material for her composition." Read the Vancouver Sun's preview on Wednesday's concert and the rest of our 2020 season! We have a lot more planned until June 2021 so stay tuned.

"After a lifetime spent attending rehearsals and concerts, my heading to the Chan Centre at the end of July shouldn’t have been a big deal. But it was." We invited journalist David Gordon Duke to preview our new online season. Read the article to get a sneak peak and understand why he got "admittedly a little emotional" about the experience.
