It's Fit Friday! Indoor Apple Picking I wonder..how many apples you can pick up?... Materials: - Tape - Basket - Apples What to do: Start by making a tree out of the tape in any way you like. It can be a big tree or a small tree. Next you will add apples *You can print off apples and let them colour them in as the apples to use.* around where the tape ends, add in as many as you’d like to. Lastly, allow them to run or walk along the lines to grab an apple and bring it back to the basket. *OPTIONAL: Ask them at the end how many apples they collected* This is a continuous game where the fun never stops. You can keep extending the game by making it longer or bigger and adding more or less apples to the tree. You can change it up by adding something else to the tree instead of apples like leaves or snowflakes when it becomes colder out. Extension: This is also great for an infant that is learning how to crawl! It gives motivation and curiosity to them to grab what is in front of them. Benefits: - Gross Motor: Moving the body in a running or walking motion or even skipping - Fine motor: Grabbing the apples with their hands helps their fine motor movements of keeping a hold of them - Numeracy: By counting the amount of objects after all are picked up
