Back to solo Whiskey Wednesday while we are under lockdown. Wish I had the creative mind of Rod Phillips so that I could ignore/manipulate the rules. I’m excited regardless. See you all at 8pm

This classic blues cut Big Road Blues is one of the highlights of the very first recording I ever did back in 1993 featuring Bill Kinnear on vocals and dobro ...guitar (and an extended harp workout in two separate segments) in front of a small intimate audience in a Collingwood, ON restaurant. I met Bill back in 1991 thru a mutual friend and blues fan. The amazing thing about Bill was that he got a late start in music at the age of 35 with absolutely no musical background prior to this, except for a real passion and zeal to learn. He travelled to the Mississippi delta spending time there soaking up as much of the culture and music as he could. Although not a technician, he brought a wonderful immediacy to his simple yet soulful playing. Bill died in 1994, a year after we released this recording. He was only 52 and and had watched his 11 year old son Sam die of a life debilitating disease. Although Bill loved life (he will be warmly remembered by all that knew him), he really died of a broken heart that was exasperated from his excessive drinking and smoking. He also died within a year of his son's death. You can hear all the other tracks from this CD on most streaming services. The opening song on the CD, the blues classic (and rendered mostly from Mississippi Fred McDowell’s version) "You Gotta Move" is Bill's plea for his son's recovery from illnessR.I.P. Sam and Bill Kinnear.

At this time of year, when nature’s stark landscape patiently awaits its soft winter mantle, when biting winds and warm fires invite us inward to reflect upon the contrasting nature of our souls, we are happy to share with you a new EP of music filled with vast and introspective musical spaces. We hope that ’November’ will envelop you in its feathery cloak, and warm your heart like a hot drink by a crackling fire. November is now available on Spotify, Amazon music, Google Play, and Pandora.

We have a NEW song coming out on December 4th called 'Winter Lullaby' and we cannot wait for you all to hear it! To celebrate we will be sharing our favourite ...things about winter! The main thing that Maddy and I love is BEING COZY! So to start off we are sharing a fancy tea! Being caffeine free, we like to 'spice' up our herbal teas with a little bit of cinnamon. What's your favourite way to spice up tea / coffee?
