Chris arrived today with his portable saw mill to cut cedar logs into various size pieces of lumber for various projects.

Must be something in the air. Another ambitious day for Aric. He decided to cut down the big old manitoba maple by the laneway. It has been rotting on the inside and he has wanted to take it down for a few years now. Today was the day.

My name is Diane Hill and I am currently working on my master's research at OISE in the department of social justice education. I am from the Oneida Nation of the Thames located in southwestern Ontario. I am getting started on my research towards completing my thesis. I’m writing to you to share this news in case you or someone you know of might be interested in participating in the interviews. For my masters thesis, I am interested in learning more about how Indigenous youth... food sovereignty relates to larger movements of Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination. I’ll be interviewing Indigenous young people (aged 22-38) in Toronto to learn more about the connections they might make between their food growing practise and larger resistance movements around Indigenous sovereignty. This will include discussions about keeping a garden, sharing the food they grow with small networks, family or community members, and how they might envision their food growing practice in relation to ideas about reciprocity, relationality and kinship. This flyer details who this project is interested in being in conversation with through the interviews. If possible, please share the flyer and information with anyone who may be interested or might share it further. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about the project!

Earth Haven Farm grows luffa in our greenhouse each year. Our sponges are sold on our website, direct from the farm and at various craft fairs that we attend.

Thank you so much, Sue & Emily Vander Wey, for this incredible birthday present for Aric. It is a handmade seed cleaning machine. Emily did the research and Sue put it all together with her fantastic wood working skills and creativity. We but it to work today and cleaned radish, arugula and tad choy.... It works great!

Thirty miles north of New York City, a biodynamic farm is built on community life, teaching, and learning. This is an ideal model of a biodynamic farm which supports its local community and in return the local community supports them.

What a beautiful poem for November as we slowly get Earth Haven Farm all tucked away for the coming winter months. This is now our time to reflect on 2020 and plan for the 2021 growing season. This is when we put our seed orders together. This is a time when we contemplate what help we will need for the coming year.

Nimkii is getting so big. She has turned out to be a wonderful dog with a very gentle and loving nature. Great with the girls. Loves walking the girls to and from the school bus.
