Did you know that you dont have to practice EC full time for it to be effective? You can pick specific times of day to practice. As long as its consistent ie. When at home, or when out of the house or only in the morning, your babe will learn when they can signal to go potty. Happy Earth Day! This year is unique in that it is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the covid crisis makes this year all the more significant. I think these weird and uncertain times have taught us a lot about the damage we are doing to our home, Earth. We all want these lockdowns to end as speedily as possible, but in the meantime we have a unique opportunity to give our environment, our ecosystem, and ourselves a break from so many stresses that we self-impose and to re-evaluate what we want the world to look like when we come out of this. So we had the mini potty out last week (only because I was teaching a class) and when I went to put it away, my 4yr old daughter says "Mom, can we please leave the potty out, I need it just in case I have a tight poop". This just highlighted to me how useful it is for little ones to get into a good "squat" position to straighten out that colon and allow for an easier elimination. If you don't have a potty that allows your childs' knees to go above the bum, you could put books under the feet to raise the knees up, and the classic EC hold is great for getting into this position as well.
