These are great guides, now available for free digitally. It's also worth buying the foldout pamphlet version for ID in the field.
Becoming a (better) forager #1 suggestion: get Sam Thayer's books #2 try https://www.ediblewildfood.com/ or facebook pages such as edible wild plants, and edible wild ontario... I've also restarted posting to my old facebook page Ottawa Gatineau Hills Forager's Guild, and just put up a video about birch sap and tapping.

A regular early morning activity at the apprenticeship would be a bird language sit. I went to Eco Echo on Sunday morning to do a solo bird language sit. Of course, I'd rather do this with other nature connaisseurs, but it is a lovely thing to do on your own too.
