The beekeeper forgot to put the frame in his hive, so the bees just freestyled, building a structure that would best handle temperature and ventilation.

We have a few new colonies from swarms. Any sugar donations would be greatly appreciated, or if your out in the big city pick me up 2 huge bags (cheaper at Walmart/superstore). With all this rain, new colonies cannot forage for food, so we feed them to help them get started.

We bee girls stick together! LoL It was such sweet timing for Celia to stop by. Had a swarm in the morning, so was already suited up and she needed a queen so we inspected another big hive and found a few hatched queen cells (probably where the swarm came from) and 3 closed queen cells. We started cutting it out and she was hatching! .....caught her and put her in a screened cup with a couple workers for Celia to take home, I kept one queen for a hive I suspected had no queen. As I was doing stuff..she was hatching too...caught her and put her in the queenless hive. Wow adventure! Got it done.

Swarm time. as the cotton wood fluff flies...so do my bees. no matter what I do...these colonies want to split and swarm. I had hoped to get a honey harvest from this year, but maybe not possible...This is my third swarm this year..... #swarm #honeybees #bellacoolabee
