Hey Everyone, Here is an update for you all on the club opening. the club will re-open for public use as of Tuesday, May 19th, at 8am.... The current rules that the executive council will have in place until COVID-19 is resolved are as follows: 1) No guests will be allowed on EGHAA grounds until further notice. 2) Please respect social distancing rules while on club grounds. 6'/2m distance between all people. 3) The 100yrd range will allow a maximum of 3 people total on the firing line for now. 4) The 50yrd range will allow a maximum of 3 people total on the firing line for now. 5) The 25yrd range will allow a maximum of 5 people total on the firing line for now. 6) The action range will be reserved for EGHAA sanctioned events only. 7) The archery will be open, respecting social distancing. 8.) The trap range will be open, respecting social distancing, Thursdays at 6pm, Sundays at 12noon. 9) All potential new members who have requested a tour must be accompanied by an EGHAA Executive Council or Board of Directors member. Standard hours of operation are as follows: Monday-Saturday: 8am until dusk Sunday: 12noon until dusk As of right now, EGHAA will not be holding regular meetings until further notice. We are working on a solution to conducting club business. The executive council is in the process of figuring out how to deal with all the fine details such as clean up dates in the mean time. We will be releasing more details in the near future as we deal with them, in the mean time, remember to take turns, and share lanes. Regards, EGHAA

EGHAA is very pleased to learn that effective Tuesday, May 19, 2020, gun clubs in Ontario will be able to re-open their doors . The announcement was made yesterday by Ontario Premier Doug Ford at his daily news conference. At this time the club is only open to members and their families- NO GUESTS-

TO ALL SHOOTING CLUBS AND RANGES - ONTARIO The Chief Firearms Office continues to receive numerous inquiries from Shooting Clubs and Ranges regarding the Provincial Order requiring all non-essential businesses and entities to close. It is a violation under the Order to remain open if the business or entity is deemed non-essential. Shooting ranges have not been included on the list of essential businesses or entities. Therefore, they must remain closed until the Province of... Ontario removes the restriction. The Order is from the Province of Ontario and not the CFO. Therefore, the CFO is not in a position to provide Shooting Clubs and Ranges with a timeline of when you may resume your shooting activities. Respectfully, Wayne. Australian Gun Law Update; Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts.... From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia Hi Yanks, I thought you all would ...like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria.....alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!) While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information. The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's too late! EGHAA Membership, Due to the current Pandemic situation and the request for social distancing - EGHAA facilities with be limited to member only attendance. This very simply means that there will be no guests of any type allowed on the property until further notice. There will also be no organized events (IPSC, TRAP, Multi-gun) until further notice.... As members of EGHAA, when using the facilities, please respect the social distancing request that is meant to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to our families, friends and community. EGHAA has an opportunity for you! Would you like to become a certified Range Safety Officer? The CSSA (https://cssa-cila.org) is holding a course at the club tomorrow, Sunday Feb. 23rd at 9am. The cost is $45 if you’re a member of the CSSA and if you’re not a member, it is $45 to join.... This is a get personal development opportunity for anyone. The lessons taught extend beyond the firearm community and can help with conflict resolution in every day life. Please contact us if you would like to attend. We only have 2 seats left.

I would like to thank all the people that came out for our first work day of the year. We had great weather that allowed us to accomplish almost everything on our list. The property looks great!
