Thank you to everyone who shared and provided information for the Remembrance posts over these past few days. With your help, we were very fortunate to post several stories involving some of the Veterans in our community. Below is a picture of the J. Hamilton Douglas Branch # 4 Wall of Memory which is located at the Mount Stewart Hillsborough River Eco- Center, 104 Main Street and which lists names of the many Veterans in our community who bravely answered the call. Special thanks to the members of the J. Hamilton Douglas Branch #4 for your help and also for your commitment and service to all our Veterans and communities.

Reginal Kelly (Pisquid, PE), born June 23,1915. Enlisted with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. His brother, Roland Kelly, born April 24,1923, enlisted as well as soon as he was of age to follow his older brother. Reg's vigilant efforts to recruit him to the same regiment were successful and they served together, though in different roles. The two brothers were part of the successful completion of one of the most challenging military operations of the Second World War, the ...storming of Juno Beach on June 6, 1944. They remained with their separate units in this regiment through the liberation of France, Belgium and finally Holland in May of 1945. They went on to live their lives and raise their families with very little known of their exploits.
