The prophet Isaiah wrote this thousands of years ago about Jesus’ coming: The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isaiah 9:2) This promise was made real for us that first dark night in Bethlehem when the star shone down on a lonely manger, where the Saviour of the whole world was born to a teenaged mom and probably unprepared older dad. And it was into these unceremonious... and humble circumstances that God’s love was made flesh in the person of Jesus! This Christmas season, may the light of the Saviour so shine in your hearts so that in all ways, in all circumstances, it bears witness to the miracle of that first Christmas, and God’s gift of love, still alive and active in our lives!
