The Rhino. One of Africa’s most endangered animals and the last of our BIG FIVE series. There are only two remaining northern white rhinos alive, under 24 hour guard in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Rhinos are a main target for poachers who are after their prized horns. Despite the different species of rhinos: black rhinos and white rhinos, they’re actually all the same color! Black rhinos are shorter and have a hooked shape mouth, while white rhinos are larger and have a square mouth. Can you tell which ones these are? #eastafricawild #rhino #blackrhino #whiterhino #savetherhinos #safari #africansafari #kenya #tanzania #wanderlust #travel #travelblogger #thebigfive #tripofalifetime #dreamvacation #bucketlist #exploremore #southafrica #olpejeta #africananimals @ Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Spotted!! (Get it??) the Leopard is this week’s Big Five feature! One of the harder animals to spot on a safari, the leopard can be found lounging in a tree which keeps them camouflaged and safe from other predators on the ground. This one () was strolling through Amboseli. Did you know leopards live in more places in the world than any other large cat? #eastafricawild #leopard #bigcat #safari #africansafari #kenya #tanzania #wanderlust #travel #travelblogger #thebigfive #tripofalifetime #dreamvacation #bucketlist #exploremore @ Amboseli National Park

@Forbes recently published an article about how to best plan an African safari, referred to as a once-in-a-lifetime trip usually handled best by an expert. While we agree with the second part, we believe that once you go one time, you’ll definitely want to return! At East Africa Wild, we take pride in creating amazing, bespoke African adventures. Chobe, Botswana is a must visit destination. It is completely different to Kenya and Tanzania, as Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana share one river with elephants coming right off the banks to drink. Botswana has 50,000 and the parks are guarded by the army that has 0 tolerance for poaching. So refreshing to see a country respect its animals to such an extent...Heading into the Okavango tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Kenya is the home of modern day safaris. The ease of access makes it a natural favorite for travelers coming to East Africa all year round. If you’re looking for privacy and serenity, Mahogany Springs Luxury Safari Resort is the perfect camp for you. Striking the ideal balance between luxury and authenticity, the lodge is known for great service and spectacular views. This location is also perfect for beginning gorilla tracking: it’s not uncommon to catch them strolling through the camp. To book your trip and get up close and personal with these creatures on the verge of extinction, visit www.eastafricawild.com.

East Africa Wild Adventures 14.09.2019

To experience one of the most unique encounters of your life, we highly recommend visiting The Mountain Gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The Gorillas we can track belong to one of the habituated family groups that live in this mountain park. The experienced guides and trackers will use their knowledge of the Gorillas habits and information from experience to locate the Gorillas whereabouts. As a result, the time required to track the gorillas varies enormously, fro...m as little as half an hour to as many as 8 hours per day. Once the gorillas are located, our group will be allowed one amazing hour with them. Looking into one of these magnificent creature’s eyes brings home the poignant fact that they are on the edge of extinction, and that our presence here contributes to ensuring their continued survival. With only 600 left, this an experience that is not to be missed. Visit www.eastafricawild.com to book your trip. See more
