We don’t just lift heavy weights! Sometimes we add some cardio in to remind ourselves how much we hate it (but NEED it). #cardio #cardioishardio #kettlebellworkout #kettlebellswings #kettlebell

It’s crazy to think that these ladies only have 4 more weeks left in power up! It’s been incredible to witness them grow as lifters and as friends! This week has been focused on increasing our volume in the strength phase by increasing the weight on the bar. We are really trying to see what these ladies can do in the 3-6 rep ranges. So excited to see them PR in the next month! Our next Power Up registration will be opening soon, so keep an eye out! If you know anyone looking to get stronger and healthier in 9 weeks, send them our way! More details on the future power up coming soon! #teammates #helpingothers #stronger #strongertogether @ Eastbound Powerlifting
Our first month of Power Up for 2020 is over! This week we started lowering the reps and increasing the weight on the bar. We have been changing up our secondary movements and accessories as well! Always looking, watching, judging. #depthbeforedishonor
PR Alert! Tamara has been with me for just over a year. In that time she has made so many physical strides that it has been amazing to watch. She never complains and does the work without hesitation. Here she is taking 2 lbs. over her all time one rep max for 3 REPS! Awesome work! #gains #gainsszn #strong #goals
Week 3 is officially over! The Power Up athletes have wrapped up their high volume cycle and will be transitioning to a lower volume and higher intensity (more weight) cycle! We upped the frequency this week in the bench press and the squat, as well as learning about how to modify rest times and warmups to suit your specific needs! We also celebrated a birthday with cake, protein bars and planks! #powerup #plank #birthday #strength #training @ Eastbound Powerlifting
Week two of Power Up is all wrapped up. This week we covered the importance of secondary lifts to target specific weaknesses or flaws in your main movement. Secondary movement selection is extremely individual and are generally movements that closely resemble the main lift you want to improve. Reminder though, that secondary movement intensity and volume can have an effect on how difficult your main movement fees. #powerup #wrapup #liftothers #uplift @ Eastbound Powerlifting

Volume and intensity are metrics that every coach and athlete should be tracking. Constant monitoring of how your volume and intensity relate to each other can give you so much valuable information in regards to the work you are putting in. It also can be a predictor of whether or not you will see the rewards of your efforts. #metrics #volume #intensity
