We know that there are some students who are not online because of a lack of available technology or connectivity, and we find this unacceptable. We wanted to update our community to let you know that we have been in frequent contact with the school and have been made aware that more devices are slowly coming in for distribution. Rest assured our school staff are working hard to procure and distribute devices from the Board as quickly as possible (as all devices from East Car...ling have already been handed out). As a Parent Council we are continuing to advocate and push the TVDSB to deliver on their promise not to leave any students behind. Every one of our students deserve equal access to education, be it online or in person, and we will keep working with our staff and Board partners toward achieving that goal.
The Ontario Government has just announced that in-person learning will not resume for students until Jan 25. More details to come as they become available. https://toronto.ctvnews.ca//students-in-southern-ontario-w

A message from the school for in-person students (for their temporary online learning this coming week)... Dear ECPS Families, Here are a few important reminders for families as we move to remote learning for the week of January 4th to 8th: ... Online learning will begin on Tuesday January 5th. Tomorrow, families will receive a phone call from a staff member, please do not block unknown callers. Please ask your child if they remember their login information. Older students have had lots of practice at the school. If they don’t remember, don’t worry, your child’s teacher can provide this information. For information and support about how to use Google Classrooms, click the following link: https://www.tvdsb.ca//supports-for-parents-and-guardians.a If your child requires a device for remote learning, please email Mr. Zavarella at [email protected]. When a device is ready, you will be contacted by the school for a pick up. If you require a device with internet, please let him know this as well. Looking forward to a great 2021. GO THUNDER
REMINDER: #TVDSB students who have been attending in-person learning will move to REMOTE LEARNING beginning January 5, 2021. Students who have been attending full remote learning will resume on January 4. Find the latest information here: http://ow.ly/nmMl50CXF6Q

Details for accessing each meeting will be posted here and sent out through School Messenger.
East Carling is looking for student representatives from community organizations, such as, Beavers, Cadets, Girl Guides, Scouts and Sparks. We would like students to participate in a Remembrance Day video. Please send us a message if your student would like to be part of this. Thank you
Day to day learning opportunities at East Carling PS are what we are thankful for.
Attention 2019/2020 Graduating Families. The TVDSB has recently announced that all postponed graduations will be held virtually this fall. Details aren't final, but expect more information to come out in the near future.
Amazing physical distancing group work going on in Mr.Elliott’s Gr.5 class. Great job following all of the Covid protocols and still engaging in exciting learning. Gooooo Thunder!
Teaching mindfulness at a young age is so important. On Monday the students & FDK staff took time to be stilland slow their breathing. Check out their calming corner and their favourite breathing activity! Ask your child about candle breathing or better yet, try it out with them!
Parent Council Meeting online tonight at 6pm.
In a year where staff, students and the school community are facing extraordinary challenges, everyone pulled together to show their support for Terry Fox and cancer research. Way to go Thunder
Today is National Custodial Workers Appreciation Day and we want to celebrate our incredible custodians! Thank you for your dedication to keeping our school a safe and healthy environment.
The Terry Fox run will look slightly different this year. Instead of running together as a larger group students will have assigned 40 minute blocks of time. The school will not be collecting pledges this year. If you woul like to make a donation please do so through the Terry Fox website.
